Children and Youth at Spirit West
Jr. Music & Drama Group
If you want to explore music and drama and are in grade 4 or up, you
might be interested in this group. We sing, play drums and percussion
instruments, put on skits and have fun getting to know one another -- the
sky is our limit!

Youth Group
The activities vary from a cakewalk to parties. One of the highlights
for this group is to raise money to purchase gifts and food for Christmas
hampers which are then distributed to needy families in the west end. Following
are some of the activities planned:

Fundraiser for Hampers October and November
Christmas Party - December
Fun Event (Lazertag, mini golf) - January and February

Spirit West Preschool Academy
The Academy believes that the first six years of life constitute an incredible
growth in the life of a child. The program will provide activities that
develop fine motor skills and encourage practical life skills. Montessori
materials will be available to enhance phonics and math concepts, there
will be music and art instruction, as well as an introduction to social
and science themes.
Start: Tuesday, October 6 from 8:45 to 11:30 am (Monday to Friday) or 12:45
to 3:30pm (Monday to Thursday) at the church. Cost $360/month for morning
and $290/month for afternoon.
Sunday School
Spirit West Sunday School is learning about God, Jesus, and the Bible through an exciting rotational model curriculum called PowerXpress. Children over 6 years of age engage in this inspirational new program which allows the children to learn through present day concepts and media. Children under 5 are with the same teacher as much as possible to give them a sense of security and comfort and have a curriculum tailor made for them each week.
Nursery/Babyfold
We have a designated room filled with appropriate toys, books and stuffed animals. We also have a rocking chair to soothe the little ones, as well as aids such as exersaucers for youngsters.
You can take your infant down before or any time during the service, whatever works for your family.
Just ask the greeters as you arrive if you are interested in having help with your little ones. We will take babies to 3 year olds in the babyfold.
